Evelyn Louise Carson passed away peacefully on Friday, November 21, 2008. She was born on March 27, 1930 in Garden City, Kansas to Carlos and Viola Haug. She was the third of nine children. Growing up on farms in Kansas and Arkansas, she learned the value of hard work and the dollar. Her family moved to Shawnee, OK in 1945 where she graduated from high school in 1948. In that year, she met and married Raymond D. Davidson and they raised two children from their Del City home. She worked in food service for many years before beginning her civil service career. In 1968, she went to work at Tinker AFB in the plating unit until she retired. In 1972, she married Levi G. Carson and they enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and OU football games. In her later years, she enjoyed painting and gardening, but most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. She attended countless school functions and sporting events with her children and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands Raymond Davidson and Levi Carson, a brother, Delbert, and a sister, Estellene. She is survived by her son, Michael Davidson of Newalla, daughter, Linda Kay Pitcovich and her husband Paul OF Oklahoma City, one grandson, Nathan P. Pitcovich of Norman, one granddaughter, Erin L. Hayes and her husband, Brice of Norman along with their two children, Jacob Levi and Ryan Paul. Mrs. Carson leaves a brother, James W. Haig and his wife Mona, as well as sisters Joan Odom, Lois Jordan and husband Jerry, Margaret Newsom and husband Bill, all of Shawnee. Her sister, Wanda Corrigan resides in Texas. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews, friends, and neighbors. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 10:00am at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel in Del City with interment at Sunnylane Cemetery.
