Betty M. Robinson was gathered to her people Monday, October 18, 2010, at 12:40AM. Mrs. Robinson was born October 31, 1924 in Chillicothe, Missouri, where she lived until the War years. She worked for the U.S. Department of Defense at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., during WWII until she married her high school sweetheart, Keith C. Robinson, June 23, 1945 at the Naval Base in Norfolk, Virginia. Keith immediately boarded a ship for Saipan, where he served until the end of the War. After the war, they returned to Ludlow, Missouri, where their daughter, Jeanne K., was born March 7, 1946. Six months later, the Robinson family relocated to Bloomington, Illinois. Mrs. Robinson worked for State Farm Insurance Companies for 42 years until her retirement. The Robinsons were founding members of Calvary Baptist Church in Normal, Illinois. Mrs. Robinson loved making handmade quilts, cross stitched table linens, and traveling the world. In 1997, the Robinsons moved to Oklahoma City to live near their only daughter. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Keith Robinson; her daughter, Jeanne Baird; her granddaughter and her husband, Michelle and Wayne Walrond (all of Edmond, Oklahoma); her grandson and his wife, Michael and Teri Leigh Baird (of Springfield, Missouri); her brother and his wife, Robert and Adeline Tevis (of Bloomington, Illinois); and her sister, Mary Lou McIrvin (of Chillicothe, Missouri). She is preceded in death by brothers, James, Dan, and Clarence. Visitation will be 8am-9pm, Wednesday, October 20th, at Memorial Park Funeral Home, with the family to receive friends from 7pm-9pm. Funeral Services will be at 2pm, Thursday, October 21, 2010, at Village Baptist Church, 10600 N. May Avenue.
