Ethel Pearl Davis, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2010, after a brief illness in the Chandler Nursing Center, Chandler, OK. She was born April 7, 1921, on the Crow Creek Sioux Indian Reservation, Pukwana, South Dakota. She attended boarding school at Haskell Indian Institute in Lawrence, Kansas, where she met her husband of fifty years, Neil Davis Sr. She made her life as an accomplished seamstress and homemaker. She was a member of Village Baptist Church since 1962 and most recently attended St. John's Episcopal Church. She was a Past Worthy Grand Matron of the Order of Eastern Star, Britton Chapter. Her greatest joy, though, was her family, and she took so much pride in each of their accomplishments and always sharing their stories. She was predeceased by her husband, Neil Davis Sr.; baby daughter, Lillian Marie; and grandson, Jeff Davis. She is survived by her 4 children and their spouses: Alice Davis Baergen (Dan), Neil Davis Jr. (Glenda), Harrell Davis (Carol), Anna Mae Davis Donat (Paul); nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great- great- grandchildren. the family extends special thanks to Father David Stock of St. John's Episcopal Church and the nursing staff at Chandler Nursing Center, Chandler, OK. A Memorial Service was held Saturday, Dec. 18th, in Heavener, OK, with burial at the Hodgen Cemetery, Hodgen, OK.
