Billy M. "Cotton" Thompson, age 85, died Sunday, February 13, 2011, at an Oklahoma City care facility after a time of failing health. He was born September 19, 1925 in Noble, OK to Stiver and Hazel (Tarp) Thompson. He grew up in Noble and attended school there. He moved to Wheatland, OK in the late forties. He worked over forty years at what is now FAA as a painting supervisor, retiring in 1979. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister. He is survived by his wife, Josephine; two daughters, Caren Ligon and husband John, Connie Ligon and husband Sonny, and one granddaughter, Tamarra Ligon, all of Wheatland. Also by two sisters, Ramona Craig and husband Larry, Linda McCrory and husband Lloyd, all of Noble, OK; one brother, Teddy Thompson and wife Carolyn, Norman. Services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at Southwest Church of Christ in OKC, with interment following in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Wheatland, OK, under the direction of McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, Oklahoma.
