Alford Coy Brownfield, 71, of Newalla, Oklahoma passed away Monday, April 11, 2011, in Norman, Oklahoma. He was born March 16, 1940 to Homer Brownfield and Narcissus Elsie Rush in Boswell, Oklahoma. Coy graduated from Hugo High School in 1963 and joined the United States Army. He married Betty Francine Hay on June 9, 1963. Coy lived in Oklahoma City, moving to Newalla in 1974 where he lived the rest of his life. He was a member of the Harrah Church of Christ. He enjoyed fishing, OU football, walks and gardening. Coy loved spoiling his grandchildren. He is survived by wife, Betty Brownfield, Newalla, Oklahoma; children, Becky Maddox and husband Jim, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Steven Coy Brownfield and wife Melanie, Norman, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren, Jared Maddox, Joe Maddox and wife Cynthia, Lizzy Rojas and husband Allan, Tori Maddox, Alec Brownfield, Jeremiah Brownfield, Atticus Brownfield; 1 great granddaughter, Layla Maddox; brothers, Everett, Cecil, Floyd and Punchie Brownfield; sister, Geneva Taylor. Visitation will be Thursday, April 14, 2011, at the Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Oklahoma from 10:00 am to 9:00. Family hour will be from 7pm to 8pm. Services will be Friday, April 15, 2011, at 10:00 am at the Church of Christ, Harrah, Oklahoma. Jim Mitchell and Keith Shackleford will officiate the services. Music arrangements by Gary Patterson and the Shackleford Family Singers. Interment will be at 2:30pm at the Oakland Cemetery, Oakland, Oklahoma.
