November 17, 1932 - July 25, 2011 OKLAHOMA CITY Bob Dewight Hoover, 78, of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away due to complications of an appendicitis on Monday, July 25, at Integris Baptist Medical Center.He was born in Oklahoma City, OK on November 17, 1932, a son of the late Eula Mae (Creech) and Tony L. Hoover. Bob married Betty Elaine (Epler) Hoover on July 10, 1951 in Sidney, Ohio, sharing 60 years of marriage. He began working for City Service Oil Company in 1950 and ultimately became a Regional Land Manager. Living in Bartlesville for 18 years, he was then transferred to Oklahoma City, retiring in 1989, after 40 years of service. Bob also served for a number of years in the Army Reserves. A member of the Landmen's Association, he also enjoyed his home at Lake Texoma, boating, camping and fishing. His computer became his hobby and entertainment after retiring. Bob was also an avid OU football fan. Bob is survived by his wife, Betty of the home; son, Darryl Hoover and wife Susan; three grandsons; three granddaughters; five great grandchildren; nephew, Glen Bateman; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by daughter, Deborah Ann Smith, son, John David Hoover, great granddaughter, Kristen Taylor Case, brother, Norman Husley, sisters, Lavane Bateman and Imogene Patterson and nephews, Bill and Don Bateman. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 29, 2011, at Maranatha Baptist Church of Western Oaks, with interment following at Sunny Lane Cemetery, Del City, OK.
