Charles Ruffra Obituary
Sept. 27, 1935 - Nov. 4, 2011 EDMOND Charles Anthony "Chuck" Ruffra, of Oklahoma City, went to be with his Lord on November 4, 2011. He was born September 27, 1935 in Louisville, Kentucky, to William and Rose Ruffra. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Judy Ruffra; and his much-loved children: son, Michael, and his longtime partner, Tommy Rose, of Seattle; and daughter, Michelle Brunner, of Edmond; and his two beloved grandchildren, Seth and Evelyn Brunner. He retired from Federal employment after serving nine years with the U.S. Air Force and 28 years with the U.S. Postal Service. He worked for the Oklahoma Health Care Authority for six years after retiring from Federal Service. Known as "Poppy" by his grandchildren, his family was his whole life.He was an active member of St. Monica's Catholic Church from the time it was built and a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. A special thanks to the Blessed Virgin Mary for holding his hand during his illness and a heartfelt thanks to the many friends for their support.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Monica Catholic Church, 2001 N. Western Ave., Edmond, at 1 p.m. on 11/11/11. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the or Catholic Charities.
