Feb 21, 1929 - Dec 27, 2011 EDMOND Marilyn Marie Evans left her loving husband of 60 years on Tuesday, December 27, to go make a place for them in Heaven. Marilyn was born to Norman & Theresa Smith on February 21, 1929 in Columbus, Ohio. She married the love of her life, Jack (John) Evans, on September 9, 1951. Marilyn attended The Ohio State University along with her husband; upon graduation they made a life together in many places. They finally settled in Oklahoma City, where they started a successful business together in 1979. They were proprietors of Light Bulb Supply until their retirement in 1992. Following their retirement they travelled the world.Marilyn is survived by her husband, Jack (John) Evans; her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Keith Kennedy of Oklahoma City; her daughter and son-in law, Linda and Robert Cummings of Lewisville, Texas; her sister, Donna Reading of Greenville, North Carolina; and two wonderful grandsons: Colin Kennedy of Norman, Oklahoma; and Blaine Kennedy of Oklahoma City. Marilyn will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her. A special thanks to all of the staff at Autumn Bridge Hospice and Carla Stokes, family and her staff for their excellent care during Marilyn's final illness.Services will be 1 p.m., Friday, at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper, with interment to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park, Oklahoma City. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m., with family to greet friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Marilyn's memory to the .
