Oct 24, 1919 - April 20, 2012 EDMOND Wanda M (Purvis) Jones Gossett went to be with the Lord on 4-20-2012 after a courageous fight with cancer. Wanda was born in Seward, Oklahoma, on October 24, 1919, to Dailey Otto and Nellie Rose Purvis. She married John Thomas Jones, the love of her life, on February 7, 1942, in San Antonio, Texas. They had one son and three daughters. After Johnnie's death January 29, 1967, Wanda married John J. Gossett on August 6, 1969. Wanda was a charter member of Peace Lutheran Church and has been an active member there since 1962. She attended various Bible study groups, served on many committees and was loved by everyone who knew her. She always had an infectious smile, a warm handshake or hug for anybody she met. She was preceded in death by her parents; both of her husbands; two sisters; two brothers; her son, Gerald Jones; and grandson, Robert Jones. Wanda is survived by one brother, Bill Purvis; three daughters, Carol Ford and husband Neil, Jan Enterline and husband David, and Jonna Vaught and husband David; one daughter-in-law, Patty Jones; one stepson, Richard Gossett and wife Linda; stepdaughter, Judy Talla and husband Eric; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Wanda loved her Lord, her family, friends and church family with all her heart, and we will miss her mischievous smile, warm heart and loving touch dearly until we meet again. Memorial service will be at Peace Lutheran Church, April 24, 2012, at 10 a.m. Formal visitation will be held Monday, April 23rd from 6-8 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond.
