January 15, 1923 - August 15, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Frank M. Pellecchia went to join his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 15, 2012. He was 89 years young. His gentle ways and endearing smile will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Frank was the son of Fred Pellecchia and Antonetta (Matarazzo) Pellecchia, each of whom emigrated to the United States from Italy. Frank was born on January 15, 1923 in East Orange, New Jersey. He and his wife Shirley have been residents of Oklahoma City since 1998. Frank served honorably in the Philippines during World War II with the Army Air Force, and was awarded the Bronze Star among other military recognitions. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Shirley M. Pellecchia of the home, one daughter Lynn Abbott of Oklahoma City and husband John, loving grandchildren Jennifer Cummings and husband John of Moore, Jamie Abbott of Del City, Julie Abbott and fiance Sean Greenlee of Moore, and great-grandchildren Cade and Kamber Cummings. Frank is also survived by his brother Anthony Pellecchia of East Hanover, New Jersey, and many nieces and nephews also in New Jersey. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2012, at 10:00 am at Candlewood Chapel in Midwest City. Friends and family are invited to a reception immediately following the memorial service.
