July 17, 1923 - Nov 1, 2012 YUKON Bill Eskew, age 89, of Yukon, OK, passed away Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, in OKC. He was born on July 17, 1923, in Yukon and had been a lifelong area rancher and farmer. Bill graduated from Yukon High School and then went on to the Merchant Marines during WW II, had been a rural school bus driver for Yukon, retired as rural mail carrier in Yukon and had also been a mechanic. He was a member of the American Legion, had been instrumental in the Yukon Roundup Club and the Yukon FFA, where he and his wife had been recipients of the Wedman FAA Award. Bill and his wife, Florence, were married on Nov. 10, 1953. He was a devoted family man and truly enjoyed time with his neighbors and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde & Eula Mae; his brother, Leo; sister, Cleo; sister, Iva Lee; brother, Jim; and sister, Joybelle Hale. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Florence, of the home; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 2 p.m. at the Yukon Cemetery.
