Oct 7, 1920 - Jan 18, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY Lee Russell Baylor, 92, passed away January 18, 2013, at Epworth Villa in Oklahoma City, OK. He was a loving, supportive, and caring husband, son, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to anyone he met. Lee was born in Milton, PA on October 7, 1920, to parents, Luther R. and Naomi Baylor, both from Milton. Lee loved to dress windows in a local store, and with his ability to work with people and his management skills, he became the youngest store manager for J.J. Newberry. On July 23, 1942, he married the love of his life, Annabel Boyer, from Lewisburg, PA. Together they celebrated 68 years of happiness. Lee was a veteran, proudly serving his country during WWII in the Navy on a ship in the Pacific. After his military career, he worked as a civil service employee at Olmstead AFB in Middletown, PA. The couple lived in the Middletown and Harrisburg, PA area. In 1966, when the base was closed, the family moved to Norman, OK, where Lee worked in Building 3001 at Tinker AFB. Lee was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Norman and was also a 32nd degree Mason. He was a man of many talents and was very meticulous in all he did. He loved to keep his yard and shrubs cut and trimmed neatly and to perfection. His cars were so clean they looked like they had just come off of the show room floor. As a stone mason, Lee helped many a friend build basements, homes, or retaining walls. He put thousands of hours in making several high quality violins. Lee wasn't much for keeping up with technology. He preferred to keep his records neatly done by hand and filed in order. His favorite saying was, "I have finger tip control." In 2003, Ann and Lee moved to Epworth Villa, where they lived for their remaining years. Lee always had a smile, firm handshake, and cordial greeting for everyone he knew or just met. He enjoyed having coffee with friends and sharing stories as well as attending church services and Sunday school. Lee had the things that mattered most to him, a loving heart, a wonderful family, good work ethics, a lot of friends and most of all, common sense. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Namoa Baylor; brother, Maurice; and wife Annabel Baylor. He is survived by his sons: Craig Baylor and his wife Carol, of Norman; and Terry Baylor, of Oklahoma City; brother, John (Eddie) Baylor and wife Rebecca, of Nashville, TN; sisters: Kate Simon, of Milton, PA; and Stella Henry and her husband Jack, of Honey Grove, PA; grandchildren: Dr. Dustin Baylor and wife Denise, of Enid; Nicole Fritz and husband Brandon, of Oklahoma City; Blake Baylor, of Corpus Christi, TX; and Justin Baylor and wife Amanda, of Pensacola, FL; great-great-grandchildren: Paxton, Garrison, and Whitney Baylor, of Enid, OK; Brooklynn and Braelynn Baylor, of Pensacola, FL. Services will be at Epworth Villa's Brill Chapel in Oklahoma City on Monday, January 21, 2013, at 2 p.m. Lee's final resting place will be by Ann's side at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Norman, Oklahoma.
