Morris, OD September 8, 1933-February 19, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY Dr. Lloyd Roe Morris, OD, age 79, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013. He was born September 8, 1933 in Burbank, OK to Lloyd Roe and Iva Nettie (Wheeler) Morris. Lloyd served his country with the US Army during the Korean Conflict during which time he earned his GED and two years of college. After military service he worked on the railroad in Alaska for a short while before going to college. He earned a degree in Geology from Oklahoma A&M and then obtained his Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. Dr. Morris ran his own optometry practice for many years in South OKC, before retiring in 2000. He had recently received his 50 year service award from the Oklahoma State Optometry Assn. He enjoyed flea marketing, farming as well as rock and crystal collecting. "Uncle Lloyd Dollars" were something that the kids all looked forward to receiving. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Earl. Survivors include his wife of nearly 53 years, Dr. Anne Morris, DVM of the home, as well as his faithful companion "Bear". Also by three sisters, Stella Young and husband Warren of Mustang, Ruby Joy of Mustang and Rose Marie Pruitt and husband Jim of Parkville, MO, and numerous nieces and nephews.
