November 19, 1929 - April 15, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY Billy James "B.J." Noakes, 83, was reunited with his wife in Heaven, April 15, 2013. He was born Nov. 19, 1929 in Amber, OK to Walter and Ina (Ayers) Noakes. He retired as an Industrial Engineer for AT&T. He was a proud Air Force Veteran, serving as a fighter pilot in the Korean War, and later in Vietnam with the Air National Guard. He loved to fly and built experimental planes in his garage. An avid fisherman, he was a member of the PC Retirees Travel Club. He was also a volunteer at Deaconess Hospital and an active member of Putnam City Baptist Church, where he enjoyed attending the Wednesday morning men's breakfast. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Joanne, and his great-granddaughter, Payton. Survivors include his daughters, Sally Noakes, Leslie Wegener and husband Rodney; son, Jim Noakes and wife LaDean; 5 grandsons, Chad Pinkerton and wife Jenny, Wesley and Austin Wegener, and Tanner and Jackson Noakes; and great-grandson, Hank. Viewing will be Wednesday, 9am-9pm, with the family present from 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams. Services will be Thursday, April 18, 2:00pm at Putnam City Baptist Church.
