July 27, 1976 - May 14, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY William L. "Billy" Cook, III died suddenly on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at his home in Oklahoma City. He was born on July 27, 1976, to William L. Cook II and Nancy D. (Smith) Cook in Oklahoma City. Billy graduated from Putnam City High School in 1994 and received an Athletic Football Scholarship to the University of Central Oklahoma, where he was a three-year letterman and two-year starting offensive lineman. He graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelor's Degree in December of 2000. Billy worked in Customer Service and Sales after graduation, most recently with the Xerox Corporation. Billy was happiest when he was playing football. He was an avid OU football fan and could tell you anything you ever wanted to know about OU Football. More recently, He was a big Oklahoma City Thunder fan as well. He was also a history buff, particularly the Civil War and World War II, and he loved all things John Wayne. He was preceded in death by his father, William L. Cook II, a 20-year veteran homicide detective with the OCPD; and his mother, Nancy Cook. He is survived by his sister, Christina Cook Cordon, Oklahoma City; niece, Paige Cordon; nephew, Lincoln Cordon; aunts, Carol Smith, Oklahoma City; Joanne Smith, Chester, SC; Kathy York; Edmond; and Debbie Chappell, Santa Fe, NM; and cousins, James Smith, Charleston, SC; Danette Chappell, Santa Fe, NM; and Erika Nichols, Oklahoma City. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Northwest Baptist Church, 3030 N.W. 23, Oklahoma City, OK.
