Oct 20, 1930 - June 22, 2013 SHAWNEE Louie Derwood Davis departed this life on June 22, 2013. He was born October 20, 1930, in Avery, TX, to Lois Murphy & Ollie Mae Davis and came to Midwest City, OK on July 4, 1941. He attended school at Star Elementary and Choctaw High School. Later, he spent two years (1952 - 1954) in the U.S. Army. After leaving the Army, he attended Oklahoma City University and then was hired at Tinker Air Force Base, where he worked for 32 years. On February 26, 1955, he married and has one son, Larry John; and one daughter, Connie Sue. Larry married and has two sons: Larry Todd and Casey Wade. Casey is married to Tiffany, and they are expecting a son. Connie married Jeffery Spicer, and they have two daughters, Bridget and Ashlee. Bridget married and has a son, Lake. Ashlee married Adam Welch and they have a son, Zane; and a daughter, Allyssa. Besides his children and grandchildren, he is survived by one brother, Calvin Junior and his wife Alvaretta, of Newcastle, OK; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ollie Mae; two brothers, Lee and Milton; and two sisters, Imogene and La Verne. If your own life has been as happy and fulfilling as Derwood's, then consider yourself very blessed. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at 1 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery, Shawnee.
