Nov. 8, 1936 - Jul. 2, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY Donald Lee Humphreys was born November 8, 1936 in Oklahoma City. He moved to San Angelo, TX as a child where he grew up and graduated high school. He served in the military in the late 1950's. He met his wife Ruth Ann Blackwell in the early 1960's and they had two children together, Donna and Richard. Ruth preceded him in death in 2001. Donald was a loving husband and took great care of Ruth up to her passing. Donald married Peggy Jacobs in December 2001 and they began a new life together. Donald and Peggy were residing in Oklahoma City at the time of his passing. Donald worked over the years as a car salesman and sold furniture at Mathis Brothers. He owned two car lots and a carpet cleaning business. He worked for 10 years at the Oklahoma Health Department as an investigator in the legal department. He proudly served on the Moore City Council and was appointed by Governor Keating as a Commissioner for the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations (OSBI). Over the years Don worked as a Reserve Police Officer for the cities of Newcastle and Del City. He loved the work he did and enjoyed helping people. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Lottie Rodgers and William Walter Humphreys Jr.; step-father, Roy Rodgers; and wife, Ruth Ann Hum-phreys. He is survived by wife, Peggy Humphreys; brother, Alan Rodgers; sisters, Shirley Fullen, Rena Oaster, and Theresa Rodgers; children and spouses, Richard Humphreys and Nita, Donna McCoy, Scott Daley and Karla, Cory Daley, and Brandy Daley; grandchildren, Lyndsey, Brittney, Amanda, Eric, Caliann, Rianna, Sara, Gina, Casey, Cori, and Cade; and great-grandchildren, Rylan and Mason. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at Moore Funeral and Cremation.
