Nov 12, 1946 - July 23, 2013 McLOUD Daniel Roundtree passed away in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 66. He was born in Oklahoma City to Elmer and Edith Roundtree. Daniel grew up in Oklahoma City, OK, attending Capitol Hill High School before enlisting in the U.S. Army. He went on to defend his country in the Vietnam War. Daniel was assigned to the 190th Aviation Company Assault Helicopter and the 1st Aviation Brigade. Daniel received the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal before being honorably discharged in 1974. He then went on to retire from the Oklahoma City Water Department. Daniel enjoyed fishing, drawing, classic cars, Sudoku puzzles and taking it easy after his retirement. His first love was spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Edith Roundtree; and his brother, Ralph Yates. Daniel is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Debra Roundtree; children: Jason Roundtree and wife Robin, of Shawnee, OK; Danell Roundtree, of Shawnee, OK; and Timothy Roundtree, of Harrah, OK; grandchildren, Blayne, Taylor, Madison and Izayah; and brother, Jody Roundtree. Daniel was a loving husband, wonderful father, amazing grandpa and Pa-Pa. Services will be held on Monday, July 29, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Lynlee Mae Chapel, 507 E. Main in Moore, Oklahoma. Viewing will be Sunday, 1:30-9 p.m. at the John Ireland Funeral Home, 120 South Broadway in Moore. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home.
