Charles Edward (Edd) Bishop, Sr. went home to be with the Lord on Sunday evening, February 5, 2006 in his home with family present. He was born February 13, 1927 in Leflore County, Oklahoma, the son of Holly Charles and Della Lee Bishop. He is survived by his loving wife Maxine of 58 years. Also surviving him are his children, Robert L Bishop of Yukon, daughter Charlene and Jackie Leach of Holdenville, Ok., Rophy C. Bishop of Taft, Ok., and Charles E. Bishop, Jr. and Anita of Yukon. Grandchildren are Amber Stone, Amy Fessler, Corry Bishop, Brock Bishop, Charles E.Bishop, III and Michael Bishop. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren. He is survived by one sister, Nell Coleman and Bob of OKC; one brother, James Bishop and Betty of Las Vegas, NV. He entered the Navy at 17 and served both Navy & Army for twelve years. Following military time, he worked at TAFB until 1966 when he operated several service stations. He took medical retirement in 1982 and has since enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and much good fellowship with the folks at the Dale Robertson Center in Yukon. Services will be held in the colonial chapel of Smith & Turner Mortuary in Yukon on Thursday, February 9 at 2:00 p.m.
