Lenora Schmidt Hawk was born to William Alison and Roxie Ellen Schmidt on December 30, 1924, in Bristow, Oklahoma. She died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on January 24, 2005. Lenora married Don Edward Hawk on February 24, 1952, in Bristow, Oklahoma. They enjoyed 52 years of marriage and had 6 children, 17 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Prior to her marriage, Lenora worked as a nurse in Bristow and Stillwater. During World War II she worked at the Douglas Aircraft Plant in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and was a member of the Rosie the Riveter Society. The family has resided in Edmond Oklahoma for 37 years. She was an active member of Faith Bible Church in Edmond and a long time member of the Woman's' Bible Study Fellowship. She was preceded in death by her son Don Edward, daughter Rebecca Lynn, her parents, four sisters and two brothers. Survivors include her husband Don, of the home and children John Hawk and wife Janita, Robyn Coman and husband Tom, Elizabeth Hellwege and husband Roger of Edmond and Susan LaVictoire and husband Paul of Oklahoma City plus all of her loving grandchildren. Lenora was a woman of strong faith and loved her family above all. She will be missed by all that have known and loved her. The family would like to thank Mercy Hospital and Mercy Hospice for their kind and loving care of their beloved Wife and Mother. Visitation for family and friends will be at Baggerley Funeral Home, 930 South Broadway, Edmond, Oklahoma. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 26th at Faith Bible Church, 600 North Coltrane in Edmond, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park, OKC, OK.
