Noma Doris Coakley, 89, of Providence Retirement Home in New Albany, IN, died Thursday, November 21, 2013. She was born to the late Fred and Wesley Stearmen Akin, June 12, 1924, in Green County, KY. Noma Doris and her husband of 60 years, Robert Henry Coakley, were farmers in Pleasant Valley, KY and were later the owners of Coakley Farm Equipment in LaGrange, KY. Noma Doris was a long-time member and Sunday school teacher at DeHaven Memorial Baptist Church in LaGrange.

She is survived by two children, Freddy (Betty) Coakley of Versailles, KY and Betty Ann Davenport of Danville, KY.; and a sister, Margy Francis Heil of Louisville, KY; four grandchildren: Paul (Dana) Coakley of Georgetown, KY, Lisa Brizendine of Clarksville, IN, Mark (Christina) Brizendine of Westfield, NJ, and Tricia (Michael Kirkendall) Coakley of Lexington, KY; as well as 4 great grandchildren, 2 nieces, and several great nephews and a great niece.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to your local chapter of The Salvation Army or online www.salvationarmyusa.org. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. to noon at Stoess Funeral Home in Crestwood, KY on Monday, November 25 with a funeral service immediately following. Burial was held at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Green County,Ky.
