Orville Ray Threlkeld, 78, of La Grange, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2013 at University Hospital.

He was assistant pastor and music minister at Trinity Baptist Church. He graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in civil engineering, had a masters of divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa. He was lieutenant Governor of KY-TN Kiwanis, a member of St. Matthews and La Grange Kiwanis club, a member of Louisville Regional Science Fair board, and a longtime member of St. Matthews Baptist Church. He had served as Oldham County Engineer, and retired owner of James L. Spaulding and Associates Engineering, and a reservist in the Military Engineer Corps.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville F. and Jane K. Threlkeld, and wife Jean S. Threlkeld.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Anne; daughter, Rae-Jean Threlkeld; grandsons, Christian T. Ballentine, Wesley J. Ballentine, Gabriel I. Ballentine; sister, Phyllis T. (Roger) Carlson; stepdaughter, Becky (Vic) Richardson; step grandchildren, Scott Richardson, Laura (Adam) Sheridan; and seven step-great-grandchildren.
Service were Jan. 30 at Stoess Funeral Home, Crestwood. Burial took place in Sunset Cemetery, Frankfort.
