Michael Duffy Obituary

SMETHPORT, Pa. - Michael Roland Duffy, beloved husband and father, 48, of Smethport, left for Heaven on Thursday (June 14, 2012).
He was born Nov. 22, 1963, in Olean, N.Y., a son of the late James McKean Duffy and the late Joan Carol Hosmer. He was also the son of Patricia Duffy of Tiona and Leonard "Hoby" Hosmer of Smethport. He was married to Wanda W. Prosser-Stewart, who survives, for 28 years.
Mr. Duffy was a 1982 graduate of Smethport Area High School. He was the president and co-owner of Duffy Inc. in Smethport, where he had worked since he was a little boy.
He loved spending time with his wife and family. He loved stock car racing; dirt bikes with his kids; working on his pond with his wife; spending time on the boat in Florida with his wife; and visiting in Kentucky and Philadelphia with the rest of his family, having a great time.
He was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, Smethport.
In addition to his wife and stepparents, he is survived by six children, Lacy J. (Anna) Stewart, Jamie L., Jenna H., Jessica F., Tristen M., and Jimmy M.M. Duffy, all of Smethport; three grandchildren, Ryan C. Burdick of Smethport and Anna L. and Shelby R. Stewart, both of Port Allegany; three sisters, Joyce (Jim) Dodge and Kelly (Bob) Dixon, both of Smethport, and Colleen Duffy of Lewis Run; two brothers, Leroy (Carol) Duffy and James (Ronda) Duffy, both of Smethport; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport. A Mass of Christian burial will be concelebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday (June 19, 2012) in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, Smethport, with the Rev. Theodore Marconi and the Rev. Vincent Cieslewicz officiating. Committal will be in Norwich Cemetery, Colegrove. A Christian wake service will be held in the funeral home at 3:30 p.m. Monday.

My heart aches for Wanda! She's such a sweet person! My husband and I moved from Ky to one of her rental homes a few yrs back...she remodeled the entire house for us...she's such a giving person. My thoughts and prayers are with you Wanda, the rest of family and friends. So sorry for this tragic loss.
