HINSDALE - George A. McMillen Sr., of 1406 Flanigan Hill Road, passed away Friday (Aug. 30, 2013) at Bradford (Pa.) Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
George was born April 12, 1947, in Cuba, and was a son of Marion Calvin and Tressea Bell McMillen. He was formerly married to Patricia Straight.
George graduated from Hinsdale High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. George worked at the Foundry in Friendship for 12 years.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, wild animals and boating.
George is survived by his mother, Tressea McMillen; two sons, Marion C. (Crystal Hicks) McMillen of Hinsdale and George A. (Heidi) McMillen of Hinsdale; a daughter, Dorena Nunn of Athens, Ala.; three grandsons, including Zackary A. McMillen; three granddaughters, including Allissa W. McMillen and Tressea L. McMillen; a great-granddaughter, Vivian A. McMillen; a brother, James L. (Alice) McMillen, Olean; and a nephew, Kevin McMillen of Waverly, Kan.
George was predeceased by his father, Marion C. McMillen, on March 9, 1995.
Friends will be received Thursday (Sept. 5, 2013) at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home Inc., 3646 E. State St., Olean, from 1 to 3 p.m., at which time a funeral service will be held. The Rev. Terry L. Jenks, pastor of the Maplehurst Baptist Church, will officiate.

When I was little you taught me that life always ends when it ends whether you are ready for it or not. We were not ready to lose you. You will always be remembered as a loving father, son and grandfather. You will always live on in the hearts of those of us who knew you well and had the privilege to call you family.
