WELLSVILLE - Lillian O. Fox, 80, entered Heaven Thursday (Jan. 9, 2014), after a brief illness.
Born Jan. 4, 1934, in Addison, she was the daughter of Homer and Eulalie Morton. She was one of five children, and is survived by her siblings. Lillian always had a strong desire to help others, and attended Alfred State College, achieving one of her fondest hopes - her designation as a registered nurse in May, 1968. She worked at Jones Memorial Hospital from 1968 to 1996.
Church and community were a part of her daily life. Lillian was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was active on many committees. She volunteered at the Hart Comfort House, Red Cross, Blind Association, and the Salvation Army, in addition to delivering Meal on Wheels with the Office of the Aging.
Lillian was predeceased by her longtime companion, Edward Letcher. They enjoyed family, friends and travel for many years.
Surviving are her four children, Michael Fox of Tucson, Ariz., Rita (Dan) Geoppner of Wellsville, Charlotte (Martin) Potter of Moses Lake, Wash., and Jerri (Kent) Ritter of Wellsville; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren who she loved very deeply.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday (Jan. 12, 2014), at the Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home. Chaplain Anne Bundrick will be officiating at 11 a.m. Monday (Jan. 13, 2014), at the First United Methodist Church on Maple Avenue in Wellsville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Comfort House, Hospice, or the charity of the donner's choice.

Lillian taught me more about nursing, and caring, in the time we worked together that I got in two years of nursing school. I will never forget her! Deepest sympathy to the family.

I lived all Lillian stood for and her great nursing skills and caring. I remember leaning on her expertise when I was a relatively new nurse in the ICU on nights. She was awesome! RIP Lillian.

Lillian was a gate keeper in the ER that allowed us young Docs some sleep when she did the night shift. I learned a lot from her and she was an icon and her kindness was given unto others after her retirement from JMH! Sadly missed Dr. Joe Felsen, Fiji

Remembering Lillian and knowing that she will be missed. She was always busy helping anyone who needed help. We are thankful that we got to know Lillian through the work of committees at the church. She spent many hours there. May your family, friends, memories and the grace of God grant you peace. Prayers and thoughts to the family.

My thoughts and prayers to Lillian's family. She was a friend and mentor to me when I joined the staff at Jones Memorial in 1980. We only worked together for 4 years, but I cherish all the wisdom and compassion she had for those around her. I looked forward every year to her Christmas card. I know she will be missed. My the Lord grant you peace in your time of sorrow.
