Resig, Mona L. - Shinglehouse  
SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa. - Mona L. Resig, 84, of Shinglehouse, passed away Thursday (Dec. 25, 2014) at Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville, N.Y., after a brief illness. Born Sept. 7, 1930, in Hollidaysburg, she was a daughter of Henry C. and Ova N. Redden Adams. On Sept, 10, 1949, in Duncansville, she married George W. Resig, who passed away March 4, 2003. She was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. Mrs. Resig was employed as a secretary at the former Clark Brothers in Olean, N.Y., and later as a secretary at the former Clair Manufacturing in Olean. She was then employed as a secretary at CONAP, which is now Cytec Industries in Olean, from where she retired. Mrs. Resig was a member of the Shinglehouse United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and a communion steward. She was a member of the Circle One women's group of the church. She enjoyed knitting and was a great cook. Surviving are a daughter, Cathy E. (Gregory) Cone of Shinglehouse; a son, Steven D. (Deborah) Resig of Shinglehouse; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Bernard E. (Barbara) Adams of Shinglehouse; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Resig was predeceased by a daughter, Kelly J. Little; and a sister, Vivian E. Bess. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 S. Union St., Shinglehouse, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 28, 2014) with the Rev. Becky L. Edwards, pastor of the Shinglehouse United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse. Rose, Paul Leslie - Fort Myers  
FORT MYERS, Fla. - Paul Leslie Rose, 87, of North Fort Myers, passed away peacefully Sunday (Dec. 21, 2014) at Lee Memorial Hospital with his loving family by his side. Paul was born Oct. 26, 1927, in Bradford, Pa., a son of Dorothea Huston and Clifton Rose. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was very gifted in matters of craftsmanship and mechanical aptitude. In addition to working as an automotive mechanic, he worked as a custom furniture craftsman. He truly was a jack-of-all-trades, the kind of person you could count on to solve the most frustrating problems encountered at work or around the house. Surviving are his wife, Bonnie Rose; a son, Mark L. (DeeDee) Rose; a daughter, Marcella (Gary) Johnson; a brother, Laurence E. (Ginny) Rose; and a sister, Helen L. (Joe) Stayer. He also leaves behind extended family members and numerous friends who will greatly miss his company. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Clifton. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 27, 2014) in the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers. A memorial service, also in the chapel, will be celebrated immediately following at 2 p.m. At the conclusion of services, friends and family will recess to adjacent Memorial Gardens Cemetery, where Mr. Rose will be laid to rest in the Veteran's Garden after a committal service. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
