Cameron, Margaret S. - Schenectady  
SCHENECTADY - Margaret Sanborn Cameron, 93, of Jefferson Street, and formerly of Snowden Avenue, Schenectady, died Easter Sunday (April 5, 2015) at Lakeshore Hospital. Margaret was born in Los Angeles, the daughter of Rev. Henry Sanborn and Maud Rankin Sanborn. She graduated at 16 from Ketchikan High School in Ketchikan, Alaska, and later from the University of Minnesota. She married her husband, William J. Cameron, in July 1945, and moved with him to Schenectady in 1947. There she raised her children and was employed for many years by St. Clare's Hospital. She was a communicant of and member of the Rosary Society of St. Luke's Church. She moved to Cattaraugus in 1993. There she became a communicant of St. Mary's Church, where she loved to play the organ. She was a member of the Altar Society, the Women's Civic League and the Let's Travel Club. She will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Margaret is survived by four children, James (Robin) Cameron of Rotterdam, Mary Ann (Robert) Hebert of Cattaraugus, William (Martha) Cameron of Schenectady and Peter (Marguerite) Cameron of Scotia; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, William, in 1980. A funeral service will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Monday (April 13, 2015) from the Daly Funeral Home Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Luke's Church. Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Church, 36 Washington St., Cattaraugus, NY 14719; or St. Luke's, 1241 State St., Schenectady, NY 12304.
