Doran, Leona T.  
ALLEGANY - Leona T. Doran, of 3857 S. Nine Mile Road, passed away Tuesday (March 10, 2015) at Olean General Hospital after a brief illness. Born June 25, 1920, in Salamanca, she was the daughter of John and Mary Tomsick Kissel. She married Francis "Shoes" Doran, who predeceased her in 1962. Mrs. Doran was a graduate of Salamanca High School. She worked as the head cook at Olean General Hospital and later for St. Francis Hospital. She was an avid bowler and volunteered for many years with the PTA. She enjoyed quilting and was a member of St. Bonaventure Church and its Altar Society. Surviving are three children, Patricia (Albert) Ensell of Olean, Edward J. (Linda Wholl) Doran of Plymouth Meeting, Pa., and Richard (Elizabeth Lingenfelter) Doran of Allegany; seven grandchildren, Audrey Hale, Scott Ensell, Daniel Ensell, Alan Ensell, Mary Lynn Ensell, Michelle Belhar and Molly Krause; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by one great-grandson, Cody; and two brothers, John Kissel and Edward Kissel. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday (March 14, 2015) at St. Bonaventure Church. The Rev. James Vacco, OFM, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Allegany Fire Department. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road, Olean.

Duncan, Lois C.  
HINSDALE - Lois C. Duncan passed away Friday (March 20, 2015) in Cuba Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her family, after a short illness. Born on Feb. 2, 1932, in Amherst, she was the daughter of the late James and Florence Hegg Cameron. On June 28, 1954, in St. Simon's Episcopal Church, South Buffalo, she married the very Rev. Richard B. Duncan, who passed away Oct. 3, 1997. Lois was a graduate of Amherst Central School, Class of 1949; and Cortland State Teacher College, Class of 1953. Following graduation, she taught second grade at Windermere Elementary School in South Buffalo, retiring to be a full-time mom. She and her family moved to Olean in 1967 and later moved to Jollytown Road in 1988. Lois was an active member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Olean, where her husband was pastor for many years. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are a son, Stephen (Lynda) Duncan of Webster; a daughter, Susan (Randy) Mallaber of Cuba; three grandchildren, Ryan (Sara) Griffin of Hinsdale; Alyssa (Joe) Velez of Castile and Brian Duncan of Webster; and two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Khloe. She was predeceased by her husband and parents. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday (March 22, 2015) at Guenther Funeral Home Inc., 1303 E. State St., Olean. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. The Rev. Michael Lonto, pastor of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Salamanca, will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olean. Memorials may be made to Cuba Memorial Hospital, 140 W. Main St., Cuba, NY 14727; or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
