FILLMORE - Ada E. Sorgen, a former resident of Dugway Road, passed away Thursday (Oct. 4, 2012) at the Wellsville Manor nursing home.
Born Feb. 21, 1918, in Lamar, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Albert and Mabel Stitzer Beck. She married Sterling C. Sorgen, who predeceased her in 1989.
Mrs. Sorgen was a member of the Friends in Christ United Methodist Church and was a secretary for Bowman Asphalt Co. in Mill Hall, Pa.
Surviving are a daughter, Margaret (Thomas) Huey of Fillmore; three grandchildren, Jane (Dave) Stenzel of Fillmore, Sharon (Thomas) Lilly of Chili and Thomas Huey of Fillmore; six great-grandchildren, Kerri (Thomas) Beardsley Jr., Brianne Lilly, Sara Huey, Nicholas Stenzel, Jonathan Huey and Kayla Lilly; a great-great-granddaughter, Emma Beardsley; a sister, Elsie Smith of Wellsville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Charles, and an infant daughter, Janet.
Family and friends may gather at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee St., Fillmore, from noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday (Oct. 7, 2012), at which time funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. The Rev. Timothy Gleason, pastor of the Friends in Christ United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Burial will be at Alger Cemetery, Fillmore.
