LITTLE VALLEY - Albert A. Glow, 87, passed away Sunday (Jan. 6, 2013) at Absolut Care in Salamanca.
He was born Dec. 15, 1925, in Little Valley, the son of the late Arthur and Marie Glow. Mr. Glow as a World War II
veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy
in the Pacific Theater.
He had worked for the village of Little Valley and had worked for many years for Champion (TODCO) in Cattaraugus before retiring.
He was an over 50-year member of the Little Valley Volunteer Fire Department; a life member of the Little Valley VFW
, where he was a past commander; member and past commander of the Little Valley American Legion; and a member of the AMVETS of Little Valley and St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Little Valley.
Mr. Glow is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Markham) Glow of Salamanca; four sons, Delbert Glow of Gowanda, Chan (LuAnn) Glow of Cattaraugus; William Glow of Kennedy; James (Virginia) Glow of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; a step-son, Mark Stickeny of Seattle; three daughters, Peggy (Rusty) Fredenburg of Kennedy, Gracie (Denny) Ridout of Randolph and Rosemary (Doug) Baldwin of Salamanca; four step-daughters, Amy Simcick of LeRoy, Shirley Stickeny of Kennedy, Betsy (Jim) Harvey of Randolph and Ruth Wyatt of Florida; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two nephews, Steven Arrowsmith and Douglas (Sue) Arrowsmith; and many other nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Arrowsmith.
Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 8, 2013), at the Mentley Funeral Home, Inc., 411 Rock City St., Little Valley. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount View Cemetery in Olean.
