OLEAN - The family of Bruce I. Bradley, formerly of Olean and Allegany, will receive friends Saturday (Jan. 12, 2013) from 1 to 3 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 212 Laurens St., Olean.
A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. in the church, with the Rev. Bruce Levine, pastor, officiating.
Mr. Bradley passed away Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, in St. Augustine, Fla. His full obituary was published in the Dec. 28 edition of the Olean Times Herald.
Arrangements are under the direction of Guenther Funeral Home Inc., Olean.
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Bruce I. Bradley, 85, of St. Augustine, Fla., formerly of Allegany, N.Y., died peacefully Christmas morning (Dec. 25, 2012) in the Bailey Family Center for Caring in St. Augustine.
He was the husband of the late Betty M. Fitch Bradley, who passed in 2008. Bruce and Betty met in high school, married in 1946 and are finally together again.
Born on April 16, 1927, in Olean, N.Y., he was a son of the late Earl and Marguerite Hopkins Bradley.
Betty and Bruce made their home in Olean and Allegany before retiring to St. Augustine and returning for the summers to Western New York. He was president of the former Bradley Builders Inc. and Brubet Corp.. Bruce had served on the board of directors for various banks in Olean and St. Francis Hospital. He was a member of the Olean Presbyterian Church and attended Memorial Presbyterian Church in St. Augustine. Also, Bruce loved his New York Yankees.
Bruce is survived by his eight children, Diane (Bill Mayer) Bradley of St. Augustine, Danese (Dennis) Minnich of Harrisville, N.Y., Dan (Sheila) Bradley of Smithfield, N.C., Dana (Patty) Bradley of Allegany, Denis (Lori) Bradley of Bradford, Pa., Danell (Jim) Dwaileebe of Coronado, Calif., David (Carolyn) Bradley of Lebanon, Pa., and Danett (Todd) Mazur of Chicago; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Earl "Ossie" and Stewart Bradley.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at First Presbyterian Church, 212 Laurens St., Olean. Visitation for family and friends will precede the funeral from 1-3 p.m. Private family interment will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 212 Laurens St., Olean, NY 14760. The Guenther Funeral Home, Olean, is entrusted with arrangements.
