FREDONIA - Carolyn R. Baker, age 80, of East Main Road, Fredonia, died Wednesday evening (Jan. 2, 2013) at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa.
Born Oct. 24, 1932, in Warsaw, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Vilona English Farrington. She was married to Orrin C. Baker, who predeceased her.
Mrs. Baker was employed at AT&T as an operator in Amherst, N.Y., for 25 years prior to her retirement.
She was a member of the Cherry Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing the organ and reading, and her greatest joy were her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are three daughters, Wanda (Jeff) Hanson of New Hampshire, Cindy (Ron) Tucholski of Virginia Beach, Va. and Rosemary McClune of Kent Blvd., Salamanca; a son, Bruce (Patty) Hawkins of Dunkirk; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Eldon (Roxanne) Farrington of Batavia; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Holly Beaman, and two sisters, Dorothy Hamilton and Ethel Eberman.
Friends may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca, on Sunday from noon to 2 p.m., at which time funeral services will be held with the Rev. Robert Goode, pastor of House of Prayer, officiating.
Burial will be in Protection Cemetery, South Wales, N.Y., at the convenience of the family.
