LARABEE, Pa. - Charles J. "Charlie" Lasher, 58, of Larabee Road, passed away Wednesday (June 18, 2014) at Olean (N.Y.) General Hospital following a brief illness.
Born March 23, 1956, in Port Allegany, he was a son of Charles A. and Marguerite Connolly Lasher. On July 13, 1985, in the Eldred United Methodist Church, he married Theresa Marie Lane, who survives.
Charlie attended Otto-Eldred High School and later received his G.E.D. while in the military. He was a longtime resident of the Eldred area.
Mr. Lasher had served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War
. He had been employed as a tool dresser in oil fields around the country, and was later the manager of the Stark Fur Trading Co. in Larabee.
He was a member of the First Church of God in Eldred and a former Cub Scout leader in Eldred. He enjoyed working on cars, motorcycles and small engines, as well as hunting and vegetable and flower gardening.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his parents of Eldred; two sons, Trevor (Courtney) Lasher of Olean and Charles Zachary Lasher of Eldred; a daughter, Erin Lasher at home; two grandchildren, Kevin and Lucy Lasher; four sisters, Barbara Callahan of Eldred, Suzanne (David) Louk of Olean, Crystal (Luke) Hathaway of Evansville, Tenn., and Debbie (Richard) Minner of Salamanca; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday (June 24, 2014) at the First Church of God in Eldred, with an 11 a.m. memorial service with the Rev. Jim Kazimer officiating.
