MACHIAS - Edna B. Nelson, formerly of Riverside Drive in Franklinville, died Saturday (Oct. 19, 2013) at the Pines in Machias.
Born Sept. 16, 1931, in Lakewood, Ohio, she was a daughter of Harry and Grace Bailey Willard. In Franklinville on Dec. 31, 1952, she married Milford "Mitt" Nelson who died Nov. 29, 1990. In Olean on April 20, 1991, she married Laurence Gould who died Oct. 22, 1991.
Mrs. Nelson was a graduate of John Marshall High School in Cleveland, Ohio. She was a former employee of Western Electric of Buffalo and had worked at Maple Haven Restaurant and the Conservation Club, both of Franklinville.
Edna moved to Olean after her second husband died and lived in Aspen Towers and worked as a receptionist for Cattaraugus County One Stop Career Center in the Blue Bird Square Building.
Mrs. Nelson was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 530 of Olean and a former member of the Olean General Auxiliary and VFW
Post 9487 auxiliary of Franklinville.
Surviving is a sister Arlene (Keith) Gould of Olean and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, George Willard, Frank Willard and Louis Willard.
Burial will take place Tuesday (Oct. 22, 2013) in Mt. Prospect Cemetery in Franklinville. Per her wishes, graveside services will be private.
