MANSFIELD - James B. Puszcz, 75, of Kent Road, passed away Thursday (April 10, 2014) at Olean General Hospital.
He was born June 18, 1938, in Great Valley, the son of the late Joseph and Lorretta (Kuhaneck) Puszcz. On Nov. 6, 1971, he married the former Margaret Eddy who survives.
Mr. Puszcz owned and operated the Sunset View Dairy Farm. He also worked at Signore Inc. and York-Merit Products, both in Ellicottville; Triple S. Auto Dismantling in Great Valley; Town of Mansfield Highway Department; and as a night watchman at Onoville Marina.
He was a deacon at Eddyville Community Church, member of the town of Mansfield planning and zoning board and Mansfield town board member. He also operated Puszcz's Cider Mill and Maple Products. He was an avid hunter and former member of the Great Valley Volunteer Fire Department.
Besides his wife of 42 years, he is survived by a daughter, Anne (Robert) Adams of Little Valley; two grandchildren, Haylee and Lucus; three brothers, Paul Kuhaneck of Texas, and Alois (Lillian) Puszcz and Robert Puszcz, both of Great Valley; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the O'Rourke Funeral Home, 411 Rock City St., Little Valley.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday (April 15, 2014) at the Little Valley United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Joseph Pascoe officiating. Burial will be in Maples Cemetery.
