PORTVILLE - Jean H. Angell of 1371 Portville-Obi Road, Portville, went home to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on Tuesday (Oct. 8, 2013) in the Pines Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Olean, after a brief illness.
Born Sept. 24, 1927, in Gasport, she was a daughter of the late Bert and Lorraine Hopkins Rising. On Jan. 18, 1958, in Niagara Falls, she married James F. Angell Sr., who passed away Jan. 5, 2003.
Jean was a dedicated member of her Church of the Nazarene and was active in many of its activities and ministries. She enjoyed being with and caring for her family.
Surviving are her four children, Edith Morris of Copperas Cove, Texas, Mary Angell of Hendersonville, N.C., Susan (Mark) Demski of Portville and James (Michelle) Angell Jr. of Contoocook, N.H.; 12 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers and one sister.
Family will receive friends at the Guenther Funeral Home Inc., 51 S. Main St., Portville, on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday (Oct. 12, 2013) from noon to 1 p.m., at which time funeral and committal services will be held. The Rev. Rick Long, pastor of Hillside Wesleyan Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery, Belmont.
