BRADFORD, Pa. - Jewell M. "Julie" DePaul, 92, of 1 State St., passed away Saturday (Feb. 2, 2013), surrounded by her loving family, at The Pavilion at Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born June 22, 1920, in Pulaski, Tenn., she was a daughter of Joseph F. and Alice (Fox) Johns. She was a 1938 graduate of Pulaski High School.
In 1944, she married Ronald Coder, who died in 1963, then on June 6, 1959, in Bradford, she married Joseph Francis DePaul, who died Sept. 15, 1994.
She worked as a hostess and waitress at many area restaurants and dinner clubs including the Option House for Tony Muto, George's Restaurant in East Bradford, and at Top Hat.
She was a life member of the Bradford Moose Lodge Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Veterans of Foreign War Auxiliary. Her hobbies included reading novels, doing crossword puzzles, crocheting, and playing euchre.
Surviving is a daughter, JoEllen Kille of Eldred; two sons, James E. (Jeanetta) Coder of Bradford and Jerry (Sally) Coder of Bradford; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; a grandson, Ryan M. Kille; her son-in-law Dick Kille; two sisters; and four brothers.
Family will be receiving friends from 11 to 1 p.m. Wednesday (Feb. 6, 2013) in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc. South Ave., where funeral and committal services will be held at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Max Miller, pastor of the Bradford Area Parish, officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.
