Joseph L. Pratt(1937 - 2013)

SCIO - Joseph L. Pratt, 75, of 4547 Wadsworth Hill Road, passed away in his home on Tuesday (Feb. 5, 2013) following a brief illness.
He was born April 3, 1937, in Rixford, Pa., a son of Merril and Ruth Church Pratt.
On Nov. 21, 1959, in Red House, he was married to Patricia Stevens, who survives.
He had resided in the Scio area since 1974.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran and had attended school in Great Valley. He was a graduate of Ellicottville High School.
He had retired as an agent for the Prudential, Farmers & Traders and the AgWay Insurance companies.
He was a life member of the New York State Firemen's Association.
Surviving besides his wife are sons, Jeffrey Pratt of Cuba, Dana Pratt of Belmont, Gregory Pratt of Binghamton and Stephen Pratt of Gifford, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents; a son, Kevin; brothers, William, Keith and John Pratt; sisters, Gladys Kellogg, Marjeray Carol and Marie Melzer.
Friends may call at the Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home in Wellsville on Saturday (Feb. 9, 2013) from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., when services will be held. The Rev. Dr. John Heister will officiate. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Scio.
