DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Marie Slevinski Carver, of Daytona Beach, passed away Sept. 14, 2013, from complications as a result of Bulbar Palsy.
Marie was born April, 9, 1947, in Olean, N.Y. On June 17, 1972, in Olean, she married Ben Carver, who predeceased her on Oct. 3, 1976. She was a graduate of Allegany Central School, class of 1965.
She was employed at Dilliard's Department Store in Tyler, Texas; AM&A's/Bon-Ton in Olean; and Dilliard's Department Store in Daytona Beach in Daytona Beach, until her retirement March 2011. Additionally, spanning over 30 years, Marie was a beauty consultant with Este Lauder.
She enjoyed her trips to Las Vegas and Biloxi, Miss., eating her mother's famous Polish dishes and visiting her family back in New York.
Marie is survived by two brothers, Thomas "Ziggy" (Mary Lynn) Slevinski of Davenport and Stanislaus "Stan" (Sara) Slevinski of South Bend, Ind.; a sister, Susan (Mark) Bowen of Holly Hills; two nephews, Zygmond "Zyg" Slevinski of Alexandria, Va., and Richard Slevinski, of Olean; a niece, Lindsay Slevinski of Olean; and a grandniece, Cameryn Slevinski of Olean.
In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her father on Jan. 21, 2013.
Marie chose to donate her body to Science Care of America. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 24, 2013) at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Daytona Beach.
