Mildred V. "Millie" Goodliff(1924-2013)

WEST CLARKSVILLE - Mildred V. "Millie" Goodliff, 89, formerly of 8971 Nile Rd, West Clarksville, passed away Saturday (Jan. 04, 2014), Born on June 21, 1924, in Wirt, she was a daughter of Clyde E. and Irene Graves Burdick.  On June 28, 1948, in the Friendship Baptist Church parsonage, she married  Joseph Goodliff he preceded her in death on May 13, 1992.
Millie was a graduate of Richburg Central School Class of 1992. Mrs. Goodliff owned and operated Goodliff's Upholstery  in West Clarksville for over 40 years.  She absolutely loved working with furniture. For 53 years she was a weather observer for flood control calling in the weather everyday for the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration.  She received a Special Service Award for the National Weather Service for her dedication. In her spare time she loved crocheting, sewing bed spreads painting, cooking, and baking.  Most of all she loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She also played piano and sang.   
Surviving are her two sons, sons, Allison "Al" (Marilyn) Goodliff of Cuba, and David Goodliff of Allegany; one daughter, Alexia (Tony) Giovanetti of Gilbertsville, Pa.; six grandchildren, Scott, Michael, Michelle, Steve, Jennifer and Christopher; five great-grandchildren, Sarash, Logan, Deacon, Cassidy and Christian; a brother, Willett Burdick of Richburg; a sister, Mary Lou (Paul) Cummins of Cuba; and several nieces and nephews; and special friends who were like her children, Les and Bonnie Fields and Earl and Linda Schultz.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Bawker.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday (Jan. 6, 2014), at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday (Jan. 7, 2014), in Faith Bible Church, 8137 Rte 417, Little Genesee.  The Rev. Clint Pearsall will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Friendship, NY.
