WELLSVILLE - Percy G. "Bud" Stitely, was called into the arms of God on Wednesday (March 26, 2014) at the Hart Comfort House in Wellsville.
He was born July 6, 1941, in Lewisburg, Pa., the son of Mike and Lorraine Forbes Stitely. On Sept. 14, 1963, he was married to Paula K. Anderson, who survives him.
"Bud" graduated from Belmont High School in 1959 and served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1962. He then attended Williamsport Tech in Williamsport, Pa., to become a welder. In 1963, he was employed by Air Preheater, now Alstom Corp., in Wellsville, where he worked for 51 years and retired in March 2014.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Wellsville.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and time spent with his family and many friends.
Surviving besides his wife, Paula, are a daughter, Minidi J. Stitely of Decatur, Ga.; a son, Michael T. Stitely of Wellsville; several grandchildren; and a sister, Ronna (Steve) Cassotis of Williamsport.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Adam A. Stitely.
Friends may pay their respects from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday (March 29, 2014) at the First United Methodist Church of Wellsville, where services will be held. The Rev. Burton Smith will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home in Wellsville.
