Randall "Ike" Jordan(1928-2012)

ACAMPO, Calif. - Randall ""Ike"" Jordan passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Dec. 26, 2012, after many years of dementia.
Ike was born April 22, 1928, in Olean, N.Y. He served in the U.S Merchant Marines during World War II, and, after receiving an honorable discharge in 1946, Ike went to work for the Pennsylvania Railroad. He continued his career with the railroad for the next 41 years, eventually retiring as an engineer with the Union Pacific in 1988.
He became a grape farmer in 1972. At that time, his passion for making homemade wine increased, and he shared this passion with many friends and neighbors. He loved gardening, cooking and oil painting. He also had a passion for fishing and the great outdoors, making several trips to Alaska.
Papa Ike was a warm and loving husband, father and grandfather, and he was a friend to all who knew him. His death will leave us sad for a short time; his life will be with us forever.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel and Leon Jordan; two brothers; and a sister.
Ike is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 64 years, Josephine ""Chip"" Jordan; and four daughters, Phyllis (Carmine) Antidormi of Massachusetts, Debi Jordan of Idaho, Maryliz (Jim) Vitale of Acampo and Claudia (Ken) Job of Acampo.
He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.
