SALAMANCA - Sibyl Lockwood, 86, died Friday (May 2, 2014) at the Absolut of Salamanca.
Born Dec. 23, 1927, in Salamanca, she was a daughter of the late Clair and Evelyn Lindell Lounsbury. She was married on July 5, 1958, to Mr. Jerry Lockwood, who predeceased her on Nov. 19, 2009.
She was a graduate of Salamanca High School. Mrs. Lockwood enjoyed reading and loved her grandchildren.
Surviving are: one son, Bradley (Candy) Brown, Great Valley; two daughters, Lisa (Tom) Jones of Houston, Texas, and Kirsten (Darrell) McElvene of Maine; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Arielle (Mike) Loftus, Mansfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Aside from her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Penny Brown and two brothers, Bruce Lounsbury and Rodney Lounsbury.
Honoring Mrs. Lockwood's wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca.
