ELLICOTTVILLE - Franklin S. Giancola, 73, of Route 219, passed away Saturday (Dec. 7, 2013) at his home.
He was born Nov. 8, 1940, in Niagara Falls, a son of the late Anthony and Rose Bonnacorso Giancola. In August 2000, he married the former Mary Meaux, who survives.
Mr. Giancola was a U.S. Army veteran and owned and operated Gypsy's in Ellicottville for many years. He was a member of the Ellicottville American Legion.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Anthony (Margaret) Giancola of Buffalo, Franklin Giancola Jr. of Buffalo and Jeremy Romero of Great Valley; a daughter, Nicole (Arthe) Ware of Louisiana; four grandchildren; a brother, Thomas Giancola of Lewistown; a sister, Margaret Carbone of Niagara Falls; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 411 Rock City St., Little Valley. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday (Dec. 12, 2013) in the funeral home.
