OLEAN - Jim C. Conner, of 356 Queen St., passed away Friday (Dec. 20, 2013) in the Cuba Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Unit, following a short illness.

Jim was born Aug. 11, 1938, in Salamanca, and was a son of Merle and Helen Medland Conner. On Sept. 15, 1977, in Portville, he married his wife of 34 years, Sandra Kay Amore, who predeceased him Oct. 28, 2011.
Jim worked for Stroehmann's Bakery for many years before working at the Reid's Food Barn Bakery in Olean. He worked there for more than 22 years when he retired in December 2012. James was a member of the BPOE of Olean. He was a Buffalo Bills and a New York Yankees fan. Jim enjoyed tinkering around the house and garage and he enjoyed refinishing furniture. But his true enjoyment came from his family, especially his grandsons.
Jim is survived by two daughters, Amanda L. (Adam) Bleech of Olean and Linda S. (Wayne) Nottingham of Olean; three sons, Jeffery P. Conner of Olean, David J. (Christine) Conner of Allegany and Jamie D. (Kimberly) Conner of Olean; six grandchildren, Brandon Conner, Aaron Conner, Eric Nottingham, Noah Bleech, Isaac Bleech and Derek Conner; two brothers, John (Kathy) Conner of Chelmsford, Mass., and Joseph Conner of Texas; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 28, 2013) in the funeral home. The Rev. Millard C. Cook, associate pastor of Olean First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
