Charles M. "Bob" Marowski

OLEAN - Mr. Charles "Bob" M. Marowski, 89, of Aspen Manor, formerly of Rochester, died Tuesday (Aug. 26, 2014).

Born June 26, 1925, in Olean, he was the son of the late Walter and Anastasia Roman Marowski. Mr. Marowski was married to the late Jean Myers Marowski, who predeceased him in 1991.

Mr. Marowski was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Pacific theatre during World War II aboard the heavy cruiser U.S.S. Canberra, which was torpedoed.

He was employed as a machinist for more than thirty years, retiring in 1990 from the former Davenport Machine Tool in Rochester.

Surviving are two sons, Robert (Maureen) Marowski and Larry (JoAnn) Marowski, both of Rochester; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, JoAnne "Jeannie" Lewicki of Franklin, Pa.; and his best friend and long-time companion, Mary Jane Skeels of Mansfield.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Walter Marowski Jr. and Thomas Marowski.

There will be no visitation. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at the convenience of the family at a time to be announced. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday (Aug. 29, 2014) in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rochester.
