HOUGHTON - Elizabeth C. Ortlip, of 7374 Park Drive, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday (Jan. 22, 2012) in her home.

She was born Feb. 9, 1920, in Vale, S.D., a daughter of the late Arthur and Elma Greenberg Carlson. She married W. Henry Ortlip, who predeceased her, on Sept. 26, 2005.
Elizabeth was a graduate of Houghton College and taught music for kindergarten through 12th grade at Theresa. She was a missionary in China and Haiti and ministered to Native Americans at the Seneca Cattaraugus Reservation at Wesley Chapel. She was a member of the Houghton Wesleyan Church and the Houghton Senior Citizens.
Surviving are a daughter, Karen (David) Daugherty of Houghton; three sons, David W. Ortlip of Columbus, Ohio, Jonathan (Ruthie) Ortlip of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and Daniel (Fran) Ortlip of Irvine, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandson, Nicholas Henry Daugherty.
Family and friends may gather from 2 to 4 p.m. only Saturday at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee St., Fillmore, and from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday (Jan. 27, 2013) at the Houghton Wesleyan Church, followed by funeral services at 2 p.m. The Rev. Dr. Wesley Oden, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Houghton.
