SALAMANCA - Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" L. Sluga, 79, of Route 353, died Saturday morning (Nov. 9, 2013) at the Olean General Hospital following a short illness.

Born July 29, 1934, in Salamanca, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Frances Kozloski Magara.
Mrs. Sluga was married June 20, 1959, at the former St. Patrick's Church in Salamanca, to William A. Sluga, who survives.
Mrs. Sluga was a homemaker. She was a member of Our lady of Peace Parish, Salamanca.
She enjoyed crocheting, bingo, working in her garden and hanging lawn decorations. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren.
Surviving are a son, William "Billyjoe" J. Sluga of Salamanca; a granddaughter, Jennifer (Cale) Benjamin of Kill Buck; three great-grandchildren, Reese, Rylan and Rose Benjamin, all of Kill Buck; two brothers, Raymond Magara of Hinsdale and Walter Magara of Jamestown; two sisters, Shirley Emerson of Ellicottville and Rosemary (Joseph) Kennedy of Knoxville, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two sister, Agnes Guskowski and Catherine McManus; and two brothers, Frank Magara and James Magara.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Wednesday (Nov. 13, 2013), with Deacon Michael Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial to the donor's choice.
