WELLSVILLE - Eva L. Willetts, 69, of 573 Scott Ave., died Monday (Dec. 10, 2012) at Wellsville Manor Care Center following a long illness.

She was born Feb. 27, 1943, in Brockport, the daughter of Walter Howard and Melvin Smith, Sr., and Pearl Delaba. On March 9, 1968, she married Carl E. Willetts, who died July 27, 1984.
For many years, she operated the ABC Cab Company and the Wellsville Answering Service, both in Wellsville.
She enjoyed bird watching, crafts, playing games with her family and crocheting sweaters and blankets.
Survivors include a son, Brian (Christine) Willetts of Wellsville; daughters, Laura (Tony) Sponseller of South Riding, Va., Alice (Paul) Murphy of Maryland, and Cindy (Paul) Wickstrom of Hornell; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Joan Lee of Cuba, Diane Whitcher of Cuba, and Connie Smith of Cuba; brothers, Martin (Luane) Smith of Cuba, Melvin (Donna) Smith, Jr. of Cuba, Royal Smith of Cuba and Asher Smith of Wellsville; her loving companion, Gary Hunt of Wellsville; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband; parents; son, Ronald P. in 1988; brother, John Howard; and sisters, Ida Carey and Verna Warner.
Friends called from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home in Wellsville. Services were held at 11 a.m. Friday (Dec. 14, 2012) at the funeral home with the Rev. Leslie Chambers, pastor of the West Clarksville Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Wellsville.
