MAYVILLE - Frances Ann (Wells) Scaccia, 79, of Mayville, went home to be with The Lord on Saturday (Feb. 8, 2014), at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa., after a brief illness.

A faithful member of Maranatha Baptist Church in Mayville, she is survived by her husband, Charles Scaccia of Mayville. The couple were married on Feb. 9, 1972, in Buffalo.
A private graveside service is scheduled for the immediate family on Saturday (Feb. 15, 2014), at Mayville Cemetery. The service will be under the direction of Freay Funeral Home of Mayville, with Pastor Norman Burdick of Mayville. A celebration service will be planned on the occasion of her 80th birthday on June 5, 2014, the time and location will be announced.
Frances was born in Bradford, Pa., to James and Leila Rose (Wagner) Wells. She graduated from Bradford High School with the Class of 1952. After moving to Buffalo, she worked at Stengel's Restaurant on Seneca Street. After furthering her education, she worked in data processing for Marine Midland Bank in Buffalo. She was active in her children's school life, public educational system and church. The family lived in South Buffalo for many years prior to her move to Mayville. She was an avid lifelong reader and homemaker with interests, which included gardening, cooking, antiques, travel, music and sewing. In Mayville her volunteer service included the St. Paul's Episcopal Church Thrift Shop on Saturday mornings.
She is also survived by three daughters, Kathleen (Michael) Masisak of Bradford, Kimberly Maben of Fredonia, and Kerry Jackson of Warren, Pa.; granddaughters, Lisa Masisak of Bradford, and Aja Lynne Kiser of Crosby, Pa.; three great-children, Abigail Larson and Rae El Larson of Bradford; and Clayton Kiser of Crosby. The deceased is survived by two brothers, Douglas (Janice) Wells, Lawton, Okla., and Jerry (Sandy) Wells, Camp Hill, Pa., as well as nieces, nephews and extended family members in Bradford, and throughout the U.S. Also, she is survived by stepdaughters, Tina Scaccia (Paul) Scibetta, Aliscia Scaccia (Russell) Oliveri; and stepson, Charles Scaccia.; a step-granddaughter, Marissa Scaccia.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Margaret Vigliotti; two brothers, Jack Wells, and James Wells; and her son-in-law, Clayton G. Jackson II.
